As the end of another very successful school year at Sarisbury draws to a close, may I on behalf of everyone associated with the school, thank you once again for the tremendous support we have received. I would like also to pay tribute to the energy, commitment and enthusiasm of the staff team at SJS who, once again, have worked tirelessly to ensure that the children receive a wide range of enjoyable and valuable learning opportunities, including the many club activities run throughout the year. The sense of community and fantastic support we receive from parents is just one of the many things that make SJS a very special place to be.
Year 6 Production:
Many congratulations to Year 6 for their brilliant production 'The Best School Ever'. The high standards achieved in all aspects of the show were great to see and I know parents in Year 6 who came to see the production thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I would like to thank Miss Alderson, Mrs Blois and Mr Richards for the excellent work that went into staging the show and to the support staff and parents who gave generously of their time with costumes, props and scenery. The clever script left us with many fond memories from Year 6's time with us and it was an outstanding note on which to sign off; we are all very proud of them.
Thank you to all those who attended our Open Evening last Wednesday, we were delighted with the number of parents who came to see their child's work and certainly appreciate the many positive comments in our visitors' book about the range and high standards of work on display. The classroom areas looked superb and I?m sure you will join me in thanking the staff who put a great deal of effort into preparing for the evening.
The Friends Association have contributed a great deal to the school during this year and we are very grateful for the fantastic work they do on behalf of the school. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Rachel Griffin, Andy Hamman, Maria Lennan and Ros Moseley who are ending their association with the school this summer, for their excellent support and contribution as members of our PFA Committee.
We would always welcome new members to our PFA Committee and if you are interested, please come along to the AGM on Wednesday 17th September at 6:30pm in the school hall.
