15th November 2013
I am writing to thank you for your help and generosity with our 'Pudsey Sleep Over' today. We are delighted to let you know that we raised over £900 today; a fantastic total of which we are all thrilled to be able to send to Children in Need. Thank you to our Year 6 children and parents who donated cakes for sale this morning. Thank you also to our Year 6 team captains for leading a very energetic 'wake up' aerobic session before school.
As a school, we have talked about how we can also help support those affected by the dreadful disaster in the Philippines. We have joined forces with a representative from a local company who will provide a container in which to carry various essentials. We would like to collect as many of the following items as possible:
Rice (the single most important item)
Meat in cans e.g. spam, corned beef, sausages, chicken, beef, ham and tuna etc
Pasta and pasta sauce in cans or packets (no bottles or jars please)
Powdered chocolate milk
Soap, shampoo, toothpaste & toothbrushes
Candles, batteries and flashlights (wind up flashlights would be perfect)
Bed sheets and towels
Plastic cups and plates
Pots and pans
Any items of clothing in good condition suitable for a hot country
These can be brought into school on Friday 22nd November, when the container will arrive to take items away. Thank you.
If you are able to offer any storage facilities, or large boxes / chests to pack the goods, or if able to help sort, pack and label goods, then Ian Bennett would be delighted to hear from you. He can be contacted directly at email@example.com
I have been asked by Locks Heath Free Church to let you know that they, with a professional theatre company, are performing 'The Snow Queen' at Brookfield School at 4pm on Saturday 30th November. Tickets are priced £7 for adults and £3 for children and are available from Locks Heath Free Church.
We have the Scholastic Book Fair at Sarisbury between Tuesday 10th and Monday 16th December. Books can be purchased at Breaktime and after school in the Hall between 3:30pm and 4:30pm. All books are half price and would make ideal Christmas presents.
Have a lovely weekend and thank you again for your continued support.
